As a young child she quickly gravitated to sketching, painting and the fine arts. She excelled at anything connected to creativity, winning many art awards as a young adult.
Genie grew up in South Florida working with her parents’ company, Drapes Contempo that they established in 1978. Drapes Contempo originally serviced businesses and homeowners with window treatments and wall coverings. She often accompanied her father on his jobs and was trained as an apprentice learning the ins and outs of the window covering industry at a very young age. In the early 2000’s her father asked her to design draperies for clients who asked for them. In 2012, Genie took over Drapes Contempo where she expanded the commercial services as well as offering full interior design for residential clients.

Genie is a self-taught designer with a keen eye for detail and spatial planning whose work speaks for itself. Based on transparent business practices, trust and effective communication, she is able to form a strong relationships with her clients that allows her to bring her clients visions to reality. Most importantly, Genie’s greatest strength is her work ethic to provide smooth execution of projects on a timely basis.
